Former Robin Joins Up With David Beckham In The MLS

Former Aston Villa loanee Indiana Vassilev has been loaned to David Beckham’s Major League Soccer side Inter Miami.

The twenty year old played twelve times for Cheltenham Town in last season’s title triumph but failed to find the net. The winger joined in January having spent the first half of the season at Burton Albion, where he also failed to score in twelve games.

The United States youth international is joined by former Arsenal and West Brom man Kieran Gibbs and will be playing under Phil Neville, who led England Women to fourth place at the 2019 World Cup.

Vassilev’s new manager is also co-owner of last season’s opponents Salford City.

He was described as “an exciting young talent who has a lot of potential” by Miami’s sporting director Chris Henderson who also said “He’s comfortable and confident on the ball and fluid with his movement. We feel this is the right place for Indiana to further his development and reach his potential.”

Last season, Inter Miami finished tenth out of fourteen in the Eastern Conference and qualified for the Play Off ‘Play In’, a similar system to the one used in the National League Promotion Play Offs.
